Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use HokmArena.com and play Hokm ("the Game"), published by Ariamax, Rijswijk, the Netherlands (KvK 42005482). By playing you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not play.

1. Who can play

You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, make sure a parent or guardian is fine with you playing. One person, one account: do not share your account and keep your password to yourself.

2. The Game is free and uses play coins only

Hokm is a game of skill played for fun, and you can play all of it for free. Daric coins are play coins: they have no value in real money, cannot be sold, traded, given to another player or paid out, and you cannot win or lose real money in the Game. We may change how many Daric things cost or pay at any time.

Paid extras

If you want to, you can buy two kinds of extras with real money: Daric chests (a number of Daric added to your account) and a league unlock (your next league opens at once, without waiting for the wins). Nobody has to buy anything: every league and every avatar can also be reached by playing.

• You need an account with a confirmed email address. Guests cannot buy.
• The price in euros, including VAT, is shown before you pay. You pay on the secure payment page of our payment provider Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
• What you bought is added to your account right after the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. It belongs to that account only and stays play content: bought Daric cannot be paid out or exchanged back into money either.
• No cooling-off period after delivery. You buy digital content that is delivered immediately. By paying you ask us to deliver at once and you agree that your legal right to cancel within 14 days ends as soon as the content is in your account.
• If something went wrong (you paid and nothing arrived, or you were charged twice), write to us and we will put it right or refund you. If your account is suspended for breaking these terms, or you delete it, unused Daric and unlocked leagues are not refunded.
• If you are under 18 you may only buy with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you take a payment back through your bank without talking to us first, we may remove what was bought and suspend the account.

3. Fair play

Play the way you would want others to play with you:

• No cheating: no bots, no modified game, no telling your partner your cards through another channel, no losing on purpose to push someone up a league.
• No playing on several accounts at the same table.
• No insulting, hateful, sexual or threatening usernames.
• Do not walk out of matches again and again. The computer takes over your seat, but it spoils the game for the other three, and your reputation score drops.
• Do not attack, overload or probe the Game or its servers.

4. Suspensions

If you break these terms we may warn you, take back Daric that were gained unfairly, suspend your account for a while or for good, or block a guest device. A suspended account is signed out and cannot play. If you think we got it wrong, write to hokm-support@ariamax.nl from the email address of your account and a person will look at it again.

5. Guests

Guest play keeps nothing for long: guest coins disappear when you stop playing, and clearing your browser data makes you a new guest. Create a free account if you want to keep your progress.

6. Your account and your data

The privacy policy says what we store. You can stop at any time and have your account deleted: see delete my data. Deleted progress, Daric and avatars cannot be brought back.

7. The Game changes

We keep working on Hokm. Features, prices in Daric, leagues and rules of the tables can change, and the Game can be offline for maintenance. We try to keep it running, but we do not promise that it is always available or free of mistakes.

8. Ownership

The Game, its artwork, cards, avatars, sounds and texts belong to Ariamax. You may play the Game and share screenshots of it; you may not copy, resell or rebuild it.

9. Liability

The Game is provided as it is, free of charge. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, lost Daric, interruptions or other damage from using the Game. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

10. Law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless consumer law gives you the right to a court in your own country.
